Local results

  • East Aurora 's Marta McLaughlin finishes first in the Youth Girls 1500m – 4:58.36 and the Youth Girls 3000m in 11:00.31
  • Erin Holbrook of East Aurora finishes 3 rd in the Young Women’s 800m run in 2:20.01
  • Maryvale's Mikayla Pearce leaps to first in the Inter Girl's Triple Jump – 11.37m (37.30 feet), first in the Inter Girls Long Jump with a jump of 5.42m (17’ 6-1/2”)
  • Inter Girls 100m dash - Amherst's Ashley Fields takes first (11.98), Will South's Kailyn Arcury takes 5th (12.73)
  • Inter Girls 200m dash - Amherst's Ashley Fields (24.88), Will East's Kala Allen (25.50) go 1-2
  • Will East's Kala Allen finishes 2 nd in the 400m dash in 55.94
  • Barker's Tyler Scheving places first in the Inter Boys 800m (2:02.40) and places second in the Inter Boys 1500m (4:15.38)
  • Alden's Jamie Wallace finishes 1st in the Young Woman's 2000m Steeplechase in 7:42.49 and 4 th in the Inter Girls 1500m (5:00.44), 2 nd in the 3000m race in 10:57.50
  • Alden’s Jenna Wallace finishes 3 rd in the Youth Girls high jump with a leap of 1.35m (4’ 6”), 3 rd in the Youth Girl’s 800m run in 2:34.01
  • Nick Orlowski finish the 2000m Intermediate Boys Steeplechase in 6:42.48. Nick takes 3rd in the Inter Boys 1500m (4:18.07) and 2 nd in the 3000m in 9:23.81
  • Will North's Natalie Worley finishes first in the Young Women's 3000m Racewalk in 19:20.44.
  • Former Maryvale high jumper, Aaron Ryan skys to first place in the Young Men's high jump with a 1.93m (6’ 4”) and leaps to second in the Young Men's triple jump 13.50m (44’)

Chautauqua Striders along with USATF Niagara will host the four day event which could bring as many as 1,200 athletes along with their coaches and parents to Jamestown, NY.   

 

The top three in each event will advance to the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships in Greensboro, NC later  July.   This is great opportunity for our young athletes (18 years old through eight and under) to compete against athletes from Upstate New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and West Virginia. 

 

The first qualifying meet for the Niagara Association will be at Nazareth College in Pittsford, NY on June 27, 2009.
